… ROOT is the origin of the second wave of Black Metal bands, following in the footsteps of Venom and Bathory. Today, ROOT is one of the most respected metal ensembles from the Czech Republic. They had released ten albums, four video clips, a live album, 2 DVDs, and a comprehensive chronicle, that charts everything that happened in ROOT, from its inception 30 years ago to the present day. It also appears on countless compilations and other music records around the world. The founder, Jiří BigBoss Valter, is among the oldest and best known singers of the black metal scene and is also known within it as a controversial figure. He is also the founder of the Czech branch of the Church of Satan. He appears as a guest on albums of Moonspell, Helheim, Behemoth and many others.
