DARK SEAL

We needed to dive deep into the czech underground black metal scene to bring out the last band that is added to this year's ETEF. DARK SEAL from Brno are, however, no new-comers, nor inexperienced rookies. They have been playing for over a decade, and several veterans of the Czech scene have been crossing the bandś paths in the various phases of their history. They have three albums out, and especially the latest "Land of Our Ancestors" offers a colorful quality mix of black and pagan metal, punctuated with mighty chorals that evoke the epic pieces of the legendary Bathory. It is no surprise, therefore, that it has received more than a few respectable ratings both in Czech and abroad. As the album title suggests, the band's lyrics and philosophies
address a pagan theme. Frontman Crudelis adds: "For me, paganism is my philosophy of life. As much as possible, I try to live and think in harmony with nature. I'm not religious in the sense of Christianity etc...
I believe in the power of nature and the whole universe around us, that's what I call "God." What I play,

I believe, is not a pose."

Dark Seal is coming to Volyne for the first time, after various periods and problems, the band seems to have stabilised and strong line-up finally, and we are honored to give them space for their premiere on ETEF!
