ANCIENT

Bergen, one of the cradles of Norwegian and world-class black metal, is also the birthplace of one excellent band, another ETEF 2020 headliner. It was originally a solo project by guitarist and composer Aphazel, which
he quickly developed into a full-fledged band called ANCIENT.

It quickly established a wide fan base in the underground black metal scene around the world. The potential
of this band playing atmospheric dark black metal is great. They're releasing their debut album, "Svartalvheim," at a renowned label called Osmose.

And it's this cult album that ANCIENT are about to play at ETEF 2020.

They then release a further six full albums. The last album Back to the Land of the Dead comes as a reunion
in 2016, when the only founding member of Aphazel, currently with the pseudonym Zel, wakes the band out
of hibernation after a long 12 years.

ANCIENT, that would be the Norwegian black fjord waterfall at the Volyne swimming pool.
